OCEAN AFFAIR
ITTSWIM is partnering with WWF in the effort to influence the cause of conservation. We believe that health oceans benefit the planet, people, prosperity and peace. By partnering and pledging 1% of our annual sales to help fund the WWF's plastic pollution campaigns. We believe in doing our part to help protect our oceans.
The problem of plastic in nature, particularly in our oceans, is a global crisis. Every minute, about a dump-truck load of plastic goes into the oceans, sullying beaches, hurting wildlife, and contaminating our food supply. We want to drive local action for global conservation. Promoting environmental responsibility means investing in our present to live a better future.
Eliminating all plastic from our lives is neither feasible nor desirable. Plastic has a lot of benefits, environmental and otherwise: It keeps our food fresh so we waste less; it’s sterile; it’s durable. And, once we’re done with it, it can be turned into something new. So how can we keep these benefits while keeping plastic out of nature?
Sustainability is at the core of our design and production processes. We aim to create consciously manufactured garments.
We use synthetic waste such as industrial plastic, waste fabric, and fishing nets from oceans which is then recycled and regenerated into a new nylon yarn that is exactly the same quality as virgin nylon.
As conscious creators we are here to make an impact and to create a collective of like-minded people who are all passionate about the ocean and want to strive to make a difference.
